Executive (Finance Analyst)  

Job Purpose

Drive and manage the implementation of annual business planning and performance reporting functions for MESRA to ensure effective resource allocation and meaningful reporting to facilitate management’s decision making and formulation of effective intervention plans to close performance gaps.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Monitor the production of Monthly/Quarterly Management Reporting on performance variance analysis and impact on financial and operational performance.
  • Review all reporting packs for submission to PDB and advise improvement for quarterly board paper and presentation packs.
  • Coordinate and drive MESRA master forecast budget comprising Key Planning and Budget Inputs, revenues, OPEX (controllable and non-controllable cost), CAPEX (fixed assets and projects), taxation, other incomes.
  • Review monthly variance analyses of operating divisions and approved for submission of supplementary/transfer budget for OPEX and CAPEX through scrutinizing over/under budget utilization.
  • Drive the production of MESRA Year End projection (YEP) numbers for Statement of Comprehensive Income (SOCI), Statement of Cash Flow (SOCF) and Statement of Financial Position (SOFP).
  • Monitor resource optimization and cost effectiveness for MESRA through effective allocation of Cost of Sales and allocation of Enabler OPEX to business line.
  • Lead the close monitoring of OPEX and CAPEX for potential optimization and to ensure accuracy, value generation and maximize cost recovery.
  • Facilitate collaboration with Strategy Division for the development and implementation of MESRA capital allocation.
  • Prepare on monthly MESRA’s TAR Performance commentaries and highlight for monthly deck of MESRA Credit Control Committee meeting.
  • Manage collateral management for all MESRA’s counterparties (partners and dealers) in ensuring credit exposure are secured.
  • Assist with any additional tasks relating to the financial accounting operations.

Vital skills for this role include:

  • Member of recognized professional accounting body (ICAA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, MICPA etc.) or degree from a recognized University with major studies in Finance and Accounting.
  • At least 3 years working experience with good knowledge / experience in research, business planning, strategy development and Microsoft office application
  • Highly conversant with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and have exposure with PowerBI.
  • Experience in SAP system is an advantage
  • Possess an overview of the company’s business and operations.
  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal) presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge / experience in research, business planning and strategy development
